The GPU manufacturer is unveiling its flagship Radeon GPU tailored for gaming laptops – the RX 7900M. This marks the debut of the Navi 31 GPU with 4608 Stream Processors for mobile graphics with a Game Clock of 1825MHz and a Boost Clock of up to 2090MHz; we have some powerhouse Radeon RX mobile GPU goodness in a new wave of Radeon RX 7900M-powered gaming laptops. There’s also 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 18Gbps on a 256-bit memory bus, while the Total Graphics Power (TGP) sits at up to 180W. In comparison, the RTX 40 series tops out at 150W (175W with Dynamic Boost). Clearly, AMD is positioning itself to compete with the most potent gaming GPUs on the market. It’s worth noting that, according to Dell, the GPU’s TGP is 160W, but it can be pushed up to 200W with SmartShift Max technology. AMD says this GPU is perfect for 1440p & beyond for the latest games. According to the company, a performance comparison between the Nvidia RTX 4080 & AMD Radeon RX 7900M mobile GPUs reveals that AMD’s chip is 7% faster on average and is also equipped with 33% higher VRAM.
