Asus has refreshed its Chromebook series with three new models, including Chromebook CX15, Chromebook CX14, and Chromebook Flip CX14 (CX1400FKA). Apart from some minor differences in size and functionality, they are essentially the same when it comes to hardware and features. All three of these Chromebooks feature an FHD resolution display. The CX14 and CX15 models have screen sizes of 14 inches and 15.6 inches, respectively. The Chromebook Flip 14 CX14 on the other hand comes with a 14-inch touchscreen which, as the name suggests, can be flipped backwards.
The three Chromebooks feature a full-size spill-resistant keyboard with a key travel of 1.5mm. The Chromebook CX15 weighs in at 1.8kg, Chromebook CX14 is 1.47kg, and the Chromebook Flip CX14 has a weight of 1.63kg. The Chromebooks are passed through US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard tests. These come in a single silver colour. The three Chromebook models – Chromebook CX15, Chromebook CX14, and Chromebook Flip CX14 – are powered by the Intel Celeron N4500 processor. The dual-core processor has a clock speed of 1.1GHz, with turbo clock speed of up to 2.8GHz, and 4M cache. The processor comes with Intel UHD 600 integrated graphics.
All three models have up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 128GB eMMC storage, Wi-Fi 6 support, and run on Chrome OS. These come with a 12-month Google One subscription that includes 100 GB of cloud storage to use across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, plus many other extra benefits — all in one shareable family plan.The battery capacity differs as well, with the Chromebook 15 featuring a 42wh 2S1P, 2-cell Li-ion Battery, while the Chromebooks 14 and 14 Flip have a 50wh 3S1P, 3-cell Li-ion Battery. In terms of connectivity, these Chromebooks offer dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports (supporting display and power delivery), and a Micro SD card reader.
