The new GPD WIN4 (2023) gaming handheld has been announced. GPD says the product will start a public beta program in July. Two versions of the model will be available based on the processors. The GPD WIN4 2023 handheld will be equipped with either the AMD R7 7840U or AMD R5 7640U with memory options of 16GB// 32GB/ 64GB. The SSD has been upgraded to PCIe Gen 4 with storage options of 512GB/ 2TB/ 4TB.  This is equivalent to directly connecting the PCIe 4×4 to the graphics card dock. The architecture yields an effective bandwidth of 63Gbps.

In terms of display, the handheld has a six-inch screen with 1080p resolution and support for refresh rates ranging from 40 to 60Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen from accidental drops. Furthermore, every aficionado will notice the handheld’s similarities to the renowned Sony PSP. The handheld has a sliding screen mechanism and a physical keyboard underneath, allowing it to be utilised for a variety of purposes. The optical finger mouse supports pressing Enter to avoid repeatedly adjusting the handle/mouse switch. The handheld also features a 6-axis gyroscope and a joystick, and the rocker cap is split into a skirt and cap. The keyboard is designed with the traditional dome button while brightness adjustment is supported.

The GPD WIN4 handheld retains a backlight design and dual Type C ports. It can be connected to a monitor which also simultaneously charges the handheld. The shoulder button of the gadget delivers a colorful lighting effect and the gadget features multiple modes that can be switched seamlessly.
