Lenovo has just launched the ThinkStation P8 tower workstation, a game-changer for professionals. Packed with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors and NVIDIA RTX GPUs, it’s set to redefine performance standards. all ThinkStation P8 SKUs will ship with the same 175 x 508 x 435 mm housing, although weight can vary up to 25.9 kg with a fully configured machine. Additionally, the AMD WRX90 chipset sits at the heart of all models, as well as Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX series processors. Despite not providing full processor model numbers, it appears that the ThinkStation P8 will be configurable with up to the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, a 5 nm processor with 96 Zen 4 cores that can boost to 5.1 GHz, 192 threads and a 350 W default TDP.
The P8 workstation can accommodate up to seven (7) M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSDs with RAID support, or up to three (3) HDDs for large capacity storage3, up to 2TB4 of DDR5 memory with octa-channel support and seven (7) PCIe slots including six (6) PCI Gen5 that deliver higher speed connectivity, lower latency and more expansion capability, and includes 10 Gigabit Ethernet onboard to virtually eliminate network bottlenecks. ThinkStation P8 includes built-in hardware monitoring via ThinkStation Diagnostics software and the Lenovo Performance Tuner software that ships with multiple profiles to optimize ISV applications.
