In India, Sony has launched the ECM-M1, a shotgun microphone that features eight distinct audio recording modes. It incorporates advanced beamforming and digital processing technology with 4 microphone capsules, enabling versatile stereo recording. The device offers an ultra-directional mode that can record sounds from a 30-degree width at the front while suppressing sounds from any other sources. The ECM-M1 comes in black and has a light and compact design. This makes it easy to clip into any camera that is compatible with the Multi Interface Shoe for direct power and audio connection. In other words, you won’t need a separate cable or batteries for this microphone. This model weighs just 65 grams and measures 72.2mm x 40mm x 64.4 mm in dimensions.

With eight audio recording modes, including super-directional, unidirectional, omnidirectional, super-directional (front + rear), super-directional (rear), super-directional (front/rear) separate, ultra-directional, and stereo, users can easily select the desired mode using the dial on the rear, with a lock button to prevent accidental changes.
